The first job I ever had was as a marketing rep for a financial services firm. I was just a kid, and my job was to help all the financial advisors in the company and help them to understand what their clients were looking for, what their needs were, and how to meet those needs.
The same thing happens when you start working as an employee for a company. You get to see what the company is about, what they do and how they do it. It doesn’t matter if you’re a young intern, a college grad, or a veteran, as long as you’re interested in learning and having an impact you’ll be very successful.
It’s not uncommon for people to ask us for job advice. You may only be looking for a few short months, or if you’re just looking for another job but still want to get a foot in the door, or you’re thinking about taking your company to the next level, or you’re just hoping to one day start your own business.
Some may think that this is a job for college grads, but we know that there are many opportunities for veterans. In fact, many veterans go into marketing positions, so if you are a veteran, you should know that it is very possible to get a marketing job with little to no experience.
I know this sounds like some sort of “you’re out of school and you want to start a business, so be it” situation, but we have an extensive list of marketing jobs that are available to veterans, and we are proud to say that over the years, many of our veterans have applied for these jobs. So whether you’re looking for a job in marketing or any other field, there are many opportunities that are available to you.
If there is any job that seems to be a huge step down from the marketing world, it is marketing jobs that require little to no experience. There are very few marketing jobs that require a high level of experience, like being a CMO or an Associate Director. These jobs are often filled by those with limited sales experience, and if you want to be a CMO or associate director, you’ll need to know how to market a company and how to sell it.
Even though I’m not a marketing person, I can certainly attest that I learned a lot from my experience working for a CMO or Associate Director. I learned how to market and sell, how to sell a product and how to sell a company.
I’m not a marketing person but I sure as hell know how to sell a company! I know how to make sales, how to sell a product, and how to sell a company. It is just a matter of knowing how to sell yourself. The first lesson in marketing a company is to be a competent salesperson. Don’t be a jerk. Don’t be lazy.
Marketing yourself means knowing what you want your company to be and what your company should stand for. This is why, when I started working at a company, I had a company policy to never be a jerk to anyone. The company policy was that if you didn’t like a salesperson, you could fire him. If you didn’t like a salesperson, you could send a representative to tell him to change his ways.
This is not the only lesson a company should learn in marketing. If you do not have confidence in your company and its products, then you are failing. If your company isn’t making money, if it does not provide what you are looking for, then stop trying to make money.
