I got a job offer from a local marketing company, so I accepted. The pay is good and the hours are flexible, so I’m very excited to be working for such a great company.
Well, I guess the question is whether I want to live in a marketing company’s office? I’m still debating, but I’m not sure I want to. I’m sure it’s a lot easier to get a job in an office than it is to get one in a cubicle… and I guess it has its advantages too.
I guess the best way to put it is that marketing jobs are not always very good jobs. You could argue that they are jobs that require you to think outside the box. Companies can pay you nice money to think about new ideas, and they can pay you even more to think about how to market to clients. But, at the end of the day, marketing job is not a long-term career. It will leave you in an office for the rest of your life.
I know I had to take a job at a big corporate company where I was required to do a lot of marketing and sales. At the end of the day, that job was just a job. I couldn’t leave the company I worked for and make my own way. And after five years of that, I couldn’t even leave my cubicle and start my own marketing company.
That’s because it’s impossible to sell a product with your current skill set. And that’s not as much of a problem when it comes to marketing, but for a job, it’s still a problem. I know a lot of marketing and sales guys who go on to start their own companies. And those companies are very successful because they’ve got a product that people want. But they’re always thinking about marketing and selling. Or they’re selling their company.
Thats why marketing jobs are in particular demand in the startup world. It doesn’t take a huge amount of money to start a small business, and the market is growing every day. But the startups that succeed make sure they spend a lot of time thinking about marketing and selling. So when they get a promotion, they know to keep the marketing to a minimum.
I think it’s true that a good marketing job is hard work and takes time to develop. The key is making sure you don’t become dependent on your marketing job and that you can still do meaningful work without it.
It’s very rare for startups to go to another job for more than a year before they stop. As a result, there’s a lot of people who’ve already been promoted at the company with no intention of going anywhere.
The typical situation at a startup is that the founders are in great shape and are willing to take risk. Once the company gets bigger and more successful, the founders are more motivated to leave. It then becomes more expensive to keep them around. When that happens, there are fewer and fewer places to work.
How about we start with a few facts. Most people in this job have been at a company for a year or more. That’s a lot of people, and as a result, there are fewer and fewer places to work. Plus, when you’re working at a startup, you’re not being paid a huge salary. You’re being paid a fraction of what someone would make at a bigger company.
