The internet has become a very large, very fragmented place. Not just in America, but in the world as a whole. There is so much information on the net that it can be difficult to keep up with it all. This is often one of the reasons why people use some of the newer, highly-targeted marketing tools that allow them to keep up with the ever-changing marketing information on the net.
For example, I’ve noticed that some of the people I work with on my marketing team use Facebook to keep up with the latest news. They don’t rely on the newsfeeds of their friends though. If they are in the mood for more information, they can look at their wall and see what they agree with on certain topics. The more they can do this, the more they can understand how the masses actually get their information.

It may be that a person who posts a lot on twitter or engages on Facebook or blogs (which are often heavily retweeted) is doing something that is not so common. The number of people who are looking for the perfect car is decreasing. That number is also decreasing when it comes to car forums. In fact, when it comes to car forums, the number of people who are interested in a specific car is also decreasing. It is just less common to be interested in a specific car, and so more car forums are filled with more cars that are just as good as or even better than the ones that are on the market.
